Organising your friend’s HENS?
Hen as slang for “woman” dates from 1620s; hence hen party “gathering of women,” first recorded in 1887.
The’ hen do’ is thought to have derived from Ancient Greek wedding traditions, of which there were three separate main events. The first of these three events, the ‘proaulia’ would consist of the bride ‘spending time at her home, preparing for the ceremony with her mother, other female relatives, friends and slaves.”
Hen Do’s have slightly changed since Ancient Greek times; however, the core remains the same – it’s the time where the closest people to the bride come together to celebrate and wish her all the best in her upcoming marriage
Why not celebrate the bride to be with an activity that is unique and outdoors! Our HENS sessions are always lots and lots of fun! Stand up paddling is an awesome way to kick off the day…. You can then head to Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel for champagne or Doyles Seafood restaurant for seafood platters!
I just want to say a big THANK YOU for our fantastic Hens paddle boarding experience! We all had a lovely morning, and the Hen was very happy!- Indiah Harburn, Hens Party
